BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY:
The AS/400 Administrator will provide comprehensive administration support for MSC's AS/400 environments managed by LTIMindtree. This role broadly encompasses activities around Security Administration (User IDs, group profiles, authority lists), General Application Upgrades, Certificate Administration, Hardware Maintenance, Disk Management, MQ Series Administration, and other related tasks.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manages and configures Apache servers on AS/400 systems.
• Oversees the installation, configuration, and maintenance of applications on the AS/400 platform.
• Handles the installation and management of digital certificates.
• Plans and executes upgrades for various applications to ensure they are up-to-date and secure.
• Manages user IDs, group profiles, and authority lists to maintain system security.
• Resolves hardware issues and coordinate with IBM and other vendors for hardware support and resolution.
• Monitors and manages disk space to ensure optimal performance and availability.
• Administers and manages global mirror replication for data redundancy and disaster recovery.
• Oversees the administration of MQ Series for message queuing and integration.
• Manages network configurations and troubleshoot network issues on the AS/400 platform.
• Administers the AS/400 operating system, including user management and system configurations.
• Plans and implements operating system upgrades to maintain system integrity and performance.
• Applies program temporary fixes (PTFs) to address system vulnerabilities and bugs.
• Optimizes system performance through tuning and resource management.
• Manages print queues, create printer output queues, and resolve printing issues.
• Administers Virtual I/O Server (VIOS) for efficient resource allocation and management.
• Oversees job scheduling and workload management to ensure efficient system operations.
• Installs, maintains, and tailors Backup, Recovery, and Media Services (BRMS) and resolve related issues.
• Analyzes and resolves complex problems in a mixed platform environment.
• Utilizes ServiceNow for incident management, problem management, and change management.
• Develops and maintains CL programs for system automation and management.
• Uses SQL for database queries and management tasks.
