About the Opportunity

Are you a passionate database administrator or engineer with a knack for innovation? Ellucian is seeking talented individuals to join our cloud database engineering team and help us deliver cutting-edge solutions to our growing client base in higher education. As a member of our Cloud Database Engineering team, you'll have the opportunity to build scalable and reliable cloud-based database solutions using AWS technologies, leverage your scripting skills to automate tasks and improve efficiency, collaborate with a team of experts to develop innovative solutions that drive positive outcomes and work on projects that make a real difference in the lives of students and educators.

Where you will make an impact

• Migrating Oracle databases from on-promises data centers to PostgreSQL in AWS Cloud.
• Conducting root cause analyses of slow or unstable database systems.
• Documenting processes and procedures for diagnosing and fixing known issues.
• Designing and developing tools for automating database standard operating procedures.
• Maintaining thousands of databases in a 24x7 production environment.Work well with cross-functional global and remote teams.

What will you bring

• 3 years of experience with enterprise scale Linux.
• 3+ years of experience with Oracle database.
• 2+ years of experience with PostgreSQL database.
• 1+ years of hands-on operational experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Experience in an operational support role with after-hours on-call responsibilities.
  Desired skills
• Oracle Certification
• AWS Certification
• ITIL Foundation Certification
• Experience in supporting, maintaining, or using Ellucian products such as Banner
