Descripción
The Warehouse Manager is responsible for the efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of a wide range of goods and driving efficiency and effectiveness in the daily operations and delivery of their assigned area by providing adequate resources, on-going work direction, and problem-solving for their team.
Responsabilities:
- Overseeing the receipt, storage, and distribution of products. Ensuring accurate inventory records and managing stock levels to prevent shortages or overstock
- Leading and training warehouse staff, including scheduling shifts and assigning tasks
- Ensuring the warehouse operates in compliance with health and safety regulations. Implementing and maintaining safety protocols
- Developing and implementing efficient warehouse processes and procedures. Continuously seeking ways to improve productivity and reduce costs
- Liaising with suppliers, transport companies, and other departments to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods
- Preparing and presenting regular reports on warehouse operations, including inventory levels, staff performance, and safety incidents.
- Prioritize, schedule, and delegate work assignments, and directly supervise the distribution center staff to ensure the meeting of company standards for safety and quality, performance, customer specifications, and delivery requirements.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Evaluate and organize the shipping, receiving, and warehouse to ensure the most cost-effective labor efficiencies, and the most efficient flow of materials and products through the center.
- Evaluate and select cost-effective freight carriers.
- Investigate, identify and correct inventory discrepancies. For major or recurring discrepancies, determine root cause and implement corrective action.
- Maintain Departmental metrics to measure key success factors.
- Prepares instructions regarding purchasing systems and procedures. Responsible for writing, implementing, and maintaining a plan for every part (PFEP).
- Analyzes market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability.
- Reviews purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.
- Arranges for disposal of surplus materials.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of manufacturing based leadership experience
- Must possess technical skills such as: blueprint reading, work measurement, and using precision measuring instruments.
- Experience in Lean manufacturing
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, organizational, analytical and communication skills
- APICS Certification - CPIM, Preferred.
- SAP experience
- Practical Manufacturing experience in planning, input/output control, bills of materials, routing, and inventory management
